Getting in touch
There is one address, it reaches a person, and it was tested before it was printed here.
The address
Write to hello@listwheel.com. It is read by the one person who builds and maintains this site, and it is the only route in — there is no form on this page, and that is deliberate. A form has to send what you type to a server somewhere, and the promise this whole site is built on is that what you type stays on your device. A form would quietly contradict every other page here.
No reply time is promised, because a promise like that is easy to write and impossible for you to check. What can be said honestly is that the address is monitored and that it was confirmed to deliver before it went on this page.
What is worth writing about
- A tool that behaved wrongly. The most useful message names the tool, what you typed in, what you expected and what you got instead. If a result looked wrong, say what made it look wrong — that is usually the part that identifies the defect.
- Something unreadable or unusable. Text that overlaps, a control you cannot reach with a keyboard, a page that will not work with a screen reader. These are treated as defects rather than suggestions, and a report naming the page and the device is enough to act on.
- A question about the fairness measurements. The method and its limits are set out on the fairness page, including what is deliberately not claimed. If something there looks wrong or overstated, that is worth knowing.
- Anything about privacy or advertising. What is stored on your device is listed on the cookies page and the wider position is on the privacy page.
- A tool that is missing. Worth reading, though a suggestion arriving does not mean it gets built.
What cannot be recovered, and why
Some things genuinely cannot be helped with, and the reason is the same in each case: this site never had the information in the first place.
- A list you lost. Saved lists live in your own browser's storage and no copy exists anywhere else. If a browser is cleared, or the storage is evicted because the device ran short of space, the list is gone and nothing here can restore it.
- A result you want checked afterwards. No record of any draw is kept, by anyone, including us. That is a deliberate property rather than an oversight, and it means a past result cannot be produced or re-examined later.
- An account. There are none, so there is nothing to reset, recover or delete.
The about page explains who runs the site and what it refuses to do; the terms set out what a result may and may not be relied on for.
What happens to what you send
An email you send arrives in an ordinary mailbox and is handled like ordinary correspondence: read, acted on where it can be, and kept no longer than it is useful. Do not include anything sensitive — a message about a tool that picks names should never need it, and the general rule holds that the safest data is the data nobody was sent.
